Meaning “kinship” or “friendship” in Scottish and Irish Gaelic, Càirdeas is a celebration of family, friends, languages and cultures spanning Scotland, Ireland and Canada.
All of the songs on the album are performed with musical friends and family members and were recorded remotely during the Covid lockdown of 2020–21. The repertoire includes traditional and contemporary songs sung in Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelic and English.
Co-produced by the duo’s nephew, acclaimed musician Innes White, Càirdeas was released on the Anam Communications label and is available on CD, download and streaming platforms.
TUATH: Songs of the Northlands is a musical and cultural exploration of the connections between the Gaels and their nearest Atlantic neighbours.
Released in February 2020, the album features traditional songs and newly written material by Ó hEadhra and NicChoinnich, sung in Scottish Gaelic, Danish, Norwegian, Irish Gaelic and Galician. The music ranges from intimate, unaccompanied voice to expansive arrangements with refined sound design by composer and musician Mike Vass.

Released in 2018, TÌR: Highland Life & Lore is the debut album by the Highland-based duo Brian Ó hEadhra and Fionnag NicChoinnich.
Co-produced with esteemed composer and musician Mike Vass, the album reflects the duo’s traditional Gaelic roots alongside influences from Nordic, Eastern European and electronic music. Ancient Gaelic texts sit alongside newly written material, creating a rich, cinematic sound world.

Elevate is the debut solo album by singer and songwriter Fionnag NicChoinnich, featuring original compositions in Scottish Gaelic and English.
The songs are shaped by influences ranging from Eastern European folk music to artists such as Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins and Björk, while remaining firmly rooted in Scottish and Gaelic tradition. Acoustic instruments are blended with electronic textures to create a forward-looking yet grounded sound.
The album was recorded and co-produced by Calum Malcolm, best known for his work with The Blue Nile. Recorded in North Berwick, the production features a rich ensemble of musicians and highlights Fionnag’s emotive songwriting and distinctive vocal delivery.
Originally released on Linn Records, Elevate has now reverted to Anam Communications following the expiry of the licensing agreement.
Released in 2013 as both a book and accompanying CD, Òrain Cèilidh Teaghlaich brings together some of the best-loved songs from the Scottish Gaelic singing tradition.
The songs were compiled by Highland-based Gaelic singer Brian Ó hEadhra and are performed with his wife, Lewis-born singer Fionnag NicChoinnich, and their two children, Órla and Ró. The informal presentation style makes the collection particularly accessible to families, learners, and newcomers to Gaelic song.
An Turas is a collaboration between Scottish Gaelic singer Christine Primrose and Irish singer Brian Ó hEadhra.
Recorded in the singers’ homes in 2001, the album presents Gaelic song old and new from Scotland and Ireland. Most of the material is performed unaccompanied, in keeping with the tradition, allowing the voices and texts to take centre stage.
