Anam

Since its formation in 1993, Anam has been delighting audiences throughout the world with their eclectic mixture of traditional and original songs and tunes, which are drawn not only from the Scottish & Irish idiom, but also from other musical influences including jazz, country, singer/songwriter, Eastern European and other world music.

Anam's line up has some of the most acclaimed and skilled musicians and singers to come out of Scotland and Ireland in recent years. The members, each of whom are well known in there own right, are: Brian Ó hEadhra: vocals, guitar; Fiona Mackenzie: vocals; Gordon Gunn: fiddle, mandolin; Nuala Kennedy: vocals, flute & whistles

Music critics often comment on the strength of their arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs and tunes. Anam’s popularity with all ages and musical tastes has been attributed to this refreshing approach, along with the band's original compositions and the stunning vocal harmonies.

Anam continue to record, tour and play to new audiences around the world. Over the past 13 years Anam have played major international festivals and venues and have performed numerous times on TV & Radio at home and abroad. Anam have recorded 5 albums over the past 9 years. Brian Ó hEadhra

Brian Ó hEadhra-Life

Brian Ó hEadhra is from Dublin in Ireland, and is now resident in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. He sings traditional and newly composed Irish and Scottish Gaelic songs as well as being a prolific singer & songwriter in English.

Brian has recorded on over 10 ablums and has performed across the world as a solo artist and with other acts. He continues to tour and record part time.

Fiona Mackenzie

Fiona Mackenzie

Fiona Mackenzie was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis off the west coast of Scotland. She has been singing and writing songs in Scottish Gaelic and English from a young age.

Fiona has been performing as a professional singer since leaving her native island for university life in Glasgow. She has toured and recorded with the Edinburgh based folk band Seelyhoo and continues to perform and record as a solo artist and with the groups Anam and Mackenzie.

Now a resident of Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland, Fiona is planning to release her debut solo album in early 2008 on Linn Records. This album has been recorded with the acclaimed music producer, Calum Malcolm, and comprises mostly of Fiona's self-penned songs. Check out Fiona's MySpace page.
